Do we have all the parts of the component and all the functionality which is needed for success? During the BI audit, this is a key assessment question for each component/construct. This can apply to each and every part of the BI Asset Base - e.g the analytical platform - referring to the answering of a single query, a BI application, or a complex analytical process. Have we anticipated the data needs of the organization to meet all the business goals for some planned period of time?
Metrics:
1. Current needs. Do we have everything we need to meet current requirements. For example, has the full range of organization data been reviewed and has been shown to include all necessary data elements for current requirements? If something has been left out - do we know why? Oversight? No goals/requirements communications?
2. Future needs. Are there planned and documented goals for the future and documented standards and procedures for meeting those goals. How complete are the plans for this component?
Metrics: BI Asset Base & Infrastructures
The Key Performance Indicators are the metrics which are used in measuring the Business Intelligence Asset Base/ Infrastructures. (Organization, People, and Business Processes use different metrics.)
