The Six Sigma Way for Business Intelligence improvement is focused on:
A. The Customer. We identify the customers for BI and define their requirements for the product, i.e. the critical to quality (CTQ) needs.
B. Six Sigma Business Intelligence. Define and understand the BI product, not just as the final perceived product, but also numerous forms, deliveries, and utilities.
C. The Continuing Improvement Process. Define and practice an improvement process which incorporates the most relevant parts of the six sigma methodology, good Information Technology project management and quality management techniques.
Should we apply Six Sigma to BI -- Creativity vs Efficiency:? How does the argument related to stifling of creativity apply to Six Sigma for BI. --- The whole goal of the BI is to provide the most value for the business practitioners - at the least cost. Those business practitioners and end users of the BI need to have the information which will allow them to be creative. In applying the creative note to the BI product -- We are not changing the culture of the organization to narrow the use -- we are aiming for a cultural change which will push for more integration and creative use of the information.
